My Web Work

Feel free to view the traditional resume in .pdf format.

Well, you've found out my dirty little secret. By day, I am a mild-mannered Web Designer at the local gas & electric company. I don't know how you found out, but now that you're here, I might as well tell you all about it.

pge.com swag
pge.com Merchandising Material

I recently had the opportunity to make the designs for some pge.com merchandising material. With less than six hours to come up with layout, I had to rely on co-workers for idea assistance and design feedback. However, the implementation was all me. I know these items are not really web-related, per se, but I liked the way they turned out so here they are.

pge.com Web site
Pacific Gas & Electric Company Web site

I have been working in PG&E’s Web Channel Department since March, 2006. My tasks include graphics and banner creation, working with clients to properly incorporate their content into the pge.com look and feel, some (mostly front-end) programming, and TeamSite templating. This month we deployed a re-design of the site, and I was charged with creating some original photography for the new site as well as graphics and banner creation.

California Gas Transmission/Pipe Ranger Web site
Pacific Gas & Electric Company

A lot of my time at PG&E was dedicated to the California Gas Transmission/Pipe Ranger Web site.

I was the sole Web Developer for this site. I created all of the front-end design, code and graphics, and maintained the back-end code that drove the former content management system (written in PHP/MySQL with occasional PERL thrown in for kooky fun). I managed the server that the content management system resided on. The entire system has since been switched over to TeamSite.

In early 2005, I managed the re-design of this site in order to mimic the general look and feel of the current pge.com site. In addition to being the project manager, I created all of the graphics, wrote the XHTML, CSS, Javascript, and modified all of the PHP/MySQL and PERL scripts to write properly for the new format. I worked with a varied team of people across the company to re-organize the site's back-end, update all of the static pages, modify the search engine, and roll out the site.

Prior to the Pipe Ranger re-design of 2005, there was an alternate site design planned. Traditionally, the California Gas Transmission site has had an entirely different customer base than the rest of the company, and therefore, the CGT site has always maintained a different look than pge.com. I drafted up several designs, and the one in the screen shot was decided upon by a team of people within our department. Later, the decision was made to adapt to the current pge.com look and feel, so this design was scrapped. However, I liked it, so I'm linking to it here.

Sport Performance Institute
Sport Performance Institute
Valparaiso, Indiana

This is a site that I created for the Sport Performance Institute in Valparaiso, Indiana. The owner of the company wanted an uncluttered, sports-oriented interface. I came up with the design and layout, and worked with the owner to make minor modifications. The site is written in XHTML, CSS, and Javascript. We are currently planning on adding a custom content management system written in PHP/MySQL so the owner of SPI can update the site himself.

Pipe Dreamer Intranet site
California Gas Transmission/Pipe Dreamer Intranet site
Pacific Gas & Electric Company

There are internets, and there are intranets. This Web site was started by an old programmer and myself as a development or practice area. However, it grew into something much more, and became the tool within our department to find reports, events, and even employees. I've done a whole host of design and code on this site. I came up with the original design, coded the front-end in HTML and CSS, and added new sections to the content management system using PHP/MySQL.

Liz Figueroa Web site

Endorse Liz Figueroa page / PHP Code
Sacramento, California

I provided this site with a form and the necessary PHP Code to allow a user to volunteer to "Endorse Liz Figueroa" via a form. The code e-mails the Liz Figueroa staff once the form is complete and the submit button is pressed. Unfortunately, this site is no longer linked.
