The landscape was cold and so quiet
I was surrounded yet completely alone
The gray sky darkened above me
One light ray pointed me home
Standing outside looking in
The house glowed bright with good cheer
But so often I preferred to linger
in the dark of the night with no fear
The glimmer of light disappeared
I turned my face toward the sky
In an instant it started to snow
It was then that I started to cry
