All of my life, I have been a vivid dreamer. I often retain dreams as if they were real memories. As a small child, I had a nightmare where Guy Smiley was attempting to do brain surgery. On me. I can remember all of the details, from the hacksaw to the red dotted lines drawn skillfully across my forehead. Talk about long lasting dream impact.
One of the benefits to all of this dreaming, I suppose, is the ability to sleep for several hours in a row. But behind my closed eyes I’m talking, laughing, crying, trying to find the way out. I wake up sweaty and sore, exhausted and exhilarated.
I guess it’s not all bad, though. I mean, at least I have good stories to tell the next day.
