Energy is low. For the past few months, life has been about going through the motions. Work. Workout. TV. Sleep. Sure, photos have been taken, edited, posted to flickr. Silly poems have been written. But am I mustering enthusiasm for the process? No. Not so much.
I liken the ebb and flow of creative energy to the big bang theory. Sometimes we humans need to recharge, so we take in energy, and take it in, and take it in some more. And then BANG! At some point, the process reverses. Creative expansion and enthusiasm abounds.
For now, I’ll embrace the time spent just taking it all in. Recharging means movies, hanging out in my jammie bottoms, eating bowls of soup, taking unplanned naps. Not so bad. Maybe I’ll stay awhile. It takes a lot of energy to grow a whole universe, you know.
