During a recent reorganization, I came across a letter I had written to my brother Alan but had chosen not to send. In this letter, I expressed my concern for his health, for his finances, for his life. I pleaded with him to take care of himself - not for me, but for him. I chose not to send this letter because I felt it would fall on deaf ears. My brother died less than a year after I made that choice.
Do you think that in an alternate universe, I sent the letter, and my brother took it to heart? Maybe on another plane of existence, he is doing well, monitoring his health, saving his money and playing lots of golf in the sun.
This thought comforts me, somehow.
